Eroding is used where complex geometries have to be produced with the highest precision.
Industries in which the technology is used include mechanical engineering, tool and mould making, aerospace technology, medical technology and general metalworking. The prerequisites for EDM are conductive materials such as hardened steel, titanium, hard metal or conductive high-strength ceramics.
Star hole eroding
Start hole eroding is often used as preparation for wire EDM. Thin and deep holes can be produced here even in already hardened metals.

In wire eroding, a programmed contour is cut into a workpiece by means of a metal wire. With our five wire EDM machines from Agie, we are ideally positioned to handle even larger orders in a short time.

Die-sinking eroding is a process of spark erosion in which the workpiece is in a dielectric bath. The electrode has the negative shape of the contour to be machined. When the electrode approaches the workpiece, a spark is produced at a certain distance which removes the material without any significant temperature input.
